The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) named James J. (Jim) Daloisio, Chairman and CEO, Railroad Construction Company of South Jersey as its 2013 Hall of Fame Inductee.

NRC says the award recognizes and honors those individuals who have made significant contributions to the NRC and the rail construction and maintenance industry.

In a prepared statement, the NRC wrote, “Jim is a third generation railroader and has worked in the family business for 50 years. Through his time with RCC of South Jersey and its predecessor and related companies, Jim has gained experience in all aspects of the industry, both in the field and the office, including work force development, estimating, engineering, design, project management, negotiation, and corporate development. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Railroad Constructors, Inc., and sits on the Board of Directors for Railroad Construction Company, Inc. Jim’s companies have successfully performed projects for dozens of railroad and rail transit customers, including CSX, Conrail, Norfolk Southern and hundreds of shortline and regional railroads. In 50 years, Jim has never failed to complete a project on time.

“In addition to the leadership Jim has brought to his rail contracting companies, he continues to apply his experience and knowledge to advance the industry as a whole. Railroad Construction Company of South Jersey is one of the founding members of the NRC and has helped to grow it into the active and influential association it is today. He has long been a fixture at NRC and various other rail industry events. There are very few in the industry that do not know Jim and call him a friend.

“Jim is also extraordinarily active in his community, from being Chairman of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Foundation Board to State President of the Order of the Sons of Italy in America Grand Lodge of New Jersey to President of the Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester County/Paulsboro to Chairman of the Moorestown Baseball Federation.

“Jim’s mastery of the railroad construction industry from bottom to top, his leadership of successful companies, his consistent record of excellence and his incredibly wide ranging contributions to a variety of organizations, associations and charities make him an exemplary choice for the NRC Hall of Fame.”

The NRC will be honoring Jim Daloisio at the 2013 NRC Conference in Miami, January 9-12, 2013.
