Harsco Corporation has appointed Jeswant Gill as president of Harsco Rail, effective Nov. 1, 2016.

Representatives say Gill brings 30 years of leadership experience in multinational manufacturing and technology. He will work out of Harsco Rail’s Columbia, S.C.-based division headquarters.

He most recently served as managing director for the Arcadia Group International’s global solutions group since 2015, providing strategic planning and business advisory services to multinational clients.

Gill oversaw Kennametal’s $1.3 billion industrial segment as executive vice president, where he is said to have developed significant revenue growth and margin expansion in rising markets. He previously served as vice president, global services for Ingersoll Rand’s industrial technologies sector. Representatives say Gill launched products meant to address customers’ equipment/systems life-cycle needs during his time as vice president.

“Jeswant is an inclusive, collaborative leader who has built and led high-performance global teams and driven significant business growth across the Americas, Europe and Asia,” said Harsco President and CEO Nick Grasberger. “His leadership accomplishments fit perfectly with our aspirations for the Harsco Rail business.”

Grasberger has been leading Harsco Rail on an interim basis, following Scott Jacoby’s resignation in August.

Gill also served as president of Ingersoll Rand’s security technologies business for the company’s Asia-Pacific region. Officials say he has held leadership positions with Invensys PLC and Johnson Controls Inc. in Asia and North America.

Gill received both his bachelor’s of science in engineering physics and master’s of business administration at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
