ARDA annual meeting speakers confirmed

The 107th American Railway Development Association Annual Meeting June 2-5 in San Francisco, Calif., will feature presentations from a long list of industry professionals.

“Moving Crude Oil by Rail” will be presented by Alan Roach, senior vice president, business development, Watco Companies.

“Passenger Rail Projects and Interaction with Freight Rail” will be presented by Brent Ogden, vice president, AECOM San Francisco and Greg Greenway, executive director, Peninsula Freight Rail Users Group.

“Climate Change, Extreme Weather, and Transportation Infrastructure Vulnerability” will be presented by Carolyn Clevenger, planner/policy analyst, San Francisco Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission and Claire Bonham-Carter, director of sustainable development, AECOM San Francisco.

“Railroad Data – GIS, PTC, and the Transformation from Departmental Data to Enterprise Data” will be presented by Alan Sisk, director technical services, Norfolk Southern and ARDA Secretary-Treasurer Nominee; Sal Macri, senior program manager, Canadian National; John Hawkins, general director, real estate operations, Union Pacific and Ben Smith, manager GIS systems, engineering, BNSF.

“Export Coal and the Railroads” will be presented by Skip Kalb, director of strategic development, BNSF Railway and Lauri Hennessey, Alliance for Northwest Jobs and Exports.

“Port/Rail Projects” will be presented by Bob Johansen, assistant vice president and director, ports and marine planning, AECOM and Stephanie Lane, manager, industrial development, CSX Transportation.

“The Rails to Trails program and the CSX High Line project” will be presented by Steve Crosby, president, CSX Real Property; Sandy Rex, president, RMI Midwest and Gary Rozmus, vice president, Gannett Fleming Engineers and chairman, ARDA Environmental Committee.

“Air Emissions Issues Related to Railroad Operations and Projects” will be presented by Melissa Hagan, senior regional environmental counsel, Union Pacific; Michael Steel, partner, Morrison & Foerster; Michael Barr, partner, Pillsbury and Kirk Marckwald, founder and principal, California Environmental Associates.

“Big Data Scenarios in Transportation” will be presented by Matt Miller, transportation industry principal, OSIsoft.

The annual meeting will be held at the Marines Memorial Club and Hotel in San Francisco, Calif.
