Balfour Beatty Rail promotes and expands operations positions

The Rail Services division of Balfour Beatty Rail, Inc., has promoted and expanded the roles of key operational personnel, as well as consolidated office operations.
RT Swindall was named director of operations – East and will lead and oversee all operations and regional offices on the East Coast of the United States, including Texas. Swindall will also retain responsibility for the division’s Equipment Department, as well as the Track Solutions Group, which provides ballast services, centralized surfacing, maintenance of grade crossings, turnkey program management services, drainage maintenance and various technical and specialty rail services. As part of this change, Balfour Beatty Rail’s Washington, Pa., operations will be consolidated into its
Indianapolis, Ind., office. Swindall will continue to be based in Jacksonville, Fla.
Steve Gorton, formerly regional manager of the Rocky Mountain Region, has been promoted to director of operations – West. Gorton will be based in Gillette and charged with leading operations in Wyoming, Utah and the West Coast, as well as continuing to run the Rocky Mountain Region. As part of this change, the division has consolidated its Ethel, Wash., operations into its existing office in Gillette, Wy.
Jamie Yourren will continue as director of operations – Crossings & Signals. In addition, his role has expanded to oversee the division’s ACTA and PHL maintenance activities along the Alameda Corridor. Yourren will continue to be based in Wilkes Barre, Pa.
Jason Bulger has been promoted to senior operations manager – Track Solutions, which will include the division’s centralized surfacing operations. Bulger will report to RT Swindall and will continue to be based in Jacksonville.
Lynn Houser has been named national business development manager, supporting the division’s East and West operations in growing and developing the company’s market position within the industry. Houser will continue to work out of the division’s Jacksonville office.
