Bergmann, a national engineering firm, has named George Kevgas, PE, as its new vice president of infrastructure for the firm's Atlantic region.

Kevgas has been with Bergmann for six years in its Conshohocken, Pa., office, and has served as a project manager and rail practice leader, organizing design and construction infrastructure projects from start to finish.

In his new role, the firm says Kevgas will manage all bridges, rail and transit, and road and highway practices in the region. He will continue to be located in the Conshohocken office, which Bergmann said is one of its two offices in the Philadelphia area.

“My career has been dedicated to creating an improved infrastructure network along the East Coast,” Kevgas said. “I look forward to helping Bergmann serve as a major contributor to the building and maintaining of the Atlantic region’s highways, bridges, and rails and, in doing so, becoming the employer of choice for engineers in the region.”

Kevgas has experience with bridge design and inspection, railroad project management and construction services with a focus on railroad and bridge transportation projects, the firm said.

He also has 18 years of experience in structural engineering, project management and construction management, officials said.

Bergmann said Kevgas’ skills have aided in the success of dozens of the firm’s projects, such as work on track and bridge projects for Amtrak and highway bridge inspections and replacements throughout the Northeast.

“As soon as he joined Bergmann, George hit the ground running as a key player in countless projects of various scopes and specialties,” said Bergmann President and CEO Pete Giovenco, P.E. “His diverse experience in managing all the moving parts of complex infrastructure projects, as well as his passion for designing and executing innovative plans, will be an asset to Bergmann and our clients as George takes on this new role.”
