Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority contractor Skanska Shimmick Herzog (SSH), a Joint Venture, will perform demolition of industrial buildings to prepare for construction of the future Berryessa Bay Area Rapid Transit Station campus July 19 through the end of August.

SSH will demolish buildings in stages, starting with buildings 1610, 1620, 1650 on Berryessa Road, followed by buildings 1630 and1640.

The Future Berryessa BART Station is one of two stations that are part of the 10-mile Berryessa Extension, the first phase of the 16-mile BART Silicon Valley extension of the regional BART system. The station is located between Berryessa and Mabury roads, adjacent to the San Jose Flea Market in east San Jose. Positioned near where Penitencia and Coyote creeks meet in eastern San Jose, the station will promote the area’s environment with architectural and landscaping features that evoke a notion of water flow, natural habitat and San Jose’s agricultural past.
