The Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency (CREATE) Program partners and the Federal Highway Administration announced the availability of the combined Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Record of Decision (ROD) for the 75th Street Corridor Improvement Project (75th Street CIP).

Issuance of the ROD by the FHWA marks the completion of a thorough and extensive process to identify and then avoid, minimize or mitigate possible impacts to the community and natural resources. The process also included an extensive public involvement program, including several public meetings as well as multiple community advisory group meetings.

The 75th Street CIP is the largest project in the CREATE Program, which is an effort of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the state of Illinois, the city of Chicago, Metra, Amtrak and the nation’s freight railroads to improve the safety and efficiency of the region’s passenger and freight rail infrastructure.

The 75th Street CIP Final EIS and ROD is available to view and download on the project website at www.75thcip.org or www.createprogram.org. Hard copies are available for review at several public facilities within the project study area.
