J.L. Patterson & Associates, Inc. (JLP) hired Harry Steelman as senior construction manager, a former Amtrak construction manager.

In his 37-year career, Steelman has overseen the management, project planning, construction and quality control of various light-rail, commuter rail, passenger rail, heavy rail and heavy haul projects.

He has experience in the areas of rail procurement and the manufacturing process, as well as coordinating projects involving multiple agencies.

“Harry’s comprehensive understanding of railroad engineering and construction, along with his experience supervising major railroad engineering operating divisions, makes him the ideal candidate to head the firm’s construction management division,” said JLP President Jacqueline Patterson.

Steelman’s broad rail experience includes completion of major complex projects involving bridges, trackwork, signals, electrifications systems, roadways, maintenance facility buildings, water treatment plants and fueling facilities. He will be responsible for the overall leadership of the construction management division including client service, profitability and personnel training.
