Jon Schumaker, former president of Pandrol, passes away

Jon Sutton Schumaker, 74, former president of Pandrol Limited, now Pandrol USA, and a resident of the Cypress Landing Community of Chocowinity, N.C., died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice of Greenville, N.C.

Schumaker’s contributions to the rail industry were well recognized. He held at least three patents, two for Pandrol clips and the third for a switch plate design. For all his professional accomplishments, his sense of humor is one characteristic friends and colleagues will miss the most.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2425 Market Street Extension, officiated by Rev. Jay Martin. A celebration of Jon’s life will follow at the Cypress Landing Bay Club in the Cypress Landing Community.
