Kal Krishnan Consulting Services, Inc. (KKCS), appointed Gary Gordon, PE, as associate vice president, based in the Northeast.

Gordon has more than 40 years of experience in planning, design, construction, maintenance, operations and safety/security in the transportation industry, with a particular focus on freight and passenger railroads, transit systems and intermodal/multimodal operations.

Gordon’s experience is in both the private and public sectors, including the U.S. Army. He is a long time, active member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) and chairs Committee 12-Rail Transit’s Subcommittee on Safety and Security.

“I am very excited to bring someone of Gary’s caliber to KKCS. His leadership and experience will be instrumental as we continue to grow, especially in the Northeastern market,” said Dev Krishnan, president of KKCS.

Prior to joining KKCS, Gordon served as regional security inspector/subject matter expert for the Transportation Security Administration. Gary is a former assistant chief engineer design and construction for the Boston & Maine Railroad/Guilford Rail System, which included the Maine Central Railroad and Delaware & Hudson Railway and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s commuter rail operation.

KKCS also appointed Shan Bhattacharya as a principal.

“We are delighted to have a senior utility and engineering executive of Shan’s caliber join our organization,” said Krishnan. “We will be looking at Shan to mentor our young staff and help us grow our business in the utility and industrial sectors.”

In other news, KKCS opened its Anaheim, Calif., office on East Katella Avenue.

“Establishing an Orange County presence is critical to providing outstanding service to our local clients and help address California’s growing infrastructure needs,” said Krishnan.

Currently, KKCS is working on a variety of projects, including commuter rail, subway and light rail in Southern California.
