L.B. Foster Company appointed John Kasel to senior vice president, Rail Business. In this new role, Kasel will be responsible for the performance and success of the company's rail-related businesses, which will be combined under his leadership.

Robert Bauer, president & CEO commented, “We have a tremendous opportunity to create more value by combining the strengths of our independent divisions into a combined business segment that will focus on utilizing our collective assets to better serve our customers.”

In addition to combining today’s current businesses, Kasel will retain responsibility for the rail operations currently reporting to him.

Bauer added, “John and his team will have complete responsibility for the business performance and execution of our strategy, as well as organizational planning and development for the rail business. With more than half of L.B. Foster’s sales in the rail market, this is a key step toward bringing the right focus and leadership to a business segment with an ambitious growth plan. I am pleased that John is accepting the challenge to lead this business into the future and maximizing the value it creates for L.B. Foster.”

Kasel has been responsible for L.B. Foster’s operations and manufacturing since 2003. In 2005, he was promoted to senior vice president, operations and manufacturing. Prior to working at L.B. Foster, Kasel held general manager assignments with Nortek Inc. and Invensys.
