MARTA GM/CEO appointed to National Infrastructure Advisory Council

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Keith Parker, has been appointed to the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC).

 

The council provides the president, through the Secretary of Homeland Security, with advice on the security of the critical infrastructure sectors and their information systems. The council comprises a maximum of 30 members, appointed by the president from private industry, academia and state and local government.

“I am honored that these talented individuals have decided to serve our country,” President Barack Obama said in a prepared statement. “They bring their years of experience and expertise to this administration and I look forward to working with them.”

In addition to Parker, a member of the private sector was appointed to the NIAC and six other individuals were appointed to various administration advisory posts.

“I am deeply humbled to have been asked to serve our country in this capacity,” Parker said. “I look forward to working with the other members of the NIAC and the secretary of Homeland Security.”
