New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) plans to work on three crossings in Salem, Atlantic and Ocean counties in November.

Work took place Nov. 14-15 on the 2nd Street crossing in Lakewood and rehabilitation on the Bailey Street Crossing in Woodstown and Aloe Street crossing in Galloway will take place Nov. 16-19.

In order to provide safer and smoother railroad crossings, the existing crossings were and will be replaced with a new concrete crossing and new asphalt approaches. The projects are included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program which repairs, upgrades, or removes approximately 30 crossings each year, statewide.
