Scott Brace, who has served as president of RailWorks Track Systems, Inc., for the past five years, has retired.

Brace began his career, which spans more than 40 years, with Railroad Service, Inc., a family business started by his father Harold Brace. Brace sold Railroad Services to RailWorks Corporation in 1998 and was named vice president of the firm. He was promoted to executive vice president of RailWorks Track Systems in 2006 and president in 2010.

According to RailWorks, under Brace’s leadership, RailWorks Track Systems grew significantly and completed a number of signature projects, including SunRail, the Tucson Modern Streetcar, multiple Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority projects and several light-rail projects in the Twin Cities, Seattle and Dallas regions. Additionally, RailWorks said Brace directed growth in the company’s work for Class 1 and regional railroads, as well as industrial projects.

Outside of his professional role, Brace took on leadership positions in industry associations. He served on the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association board from 1987 to 2003 in various roles, including chairman from 2000 to 2001. Brace also served as a board member of the Minnesota Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., from 1984 to 1985.

John Young, executive vice president of RailWorks Corporation, oversees all of the U.S. track operations including RailWorks Track Systems, RailWorks Track Services and RailWorks Maintenance of Way.
