RailWorks subsidiaries name two new presidents

RailWorks Corporation, named Mark Patterson president of its transit systems subsidiary L.K. Comstock National Transit, Inc., and named Nuno Pereira president of its Canadian subsidiary PNR RailWorks Inc.

In his new position, Patterson is responsible for leading L.K. Comstock National Transit, which specializes in performing design support, engineering and installation, testing, start-up and maintenance services for mass transit systems.

Patterson has 30 years of operations management experience focusing on the rail and power industries in both the United States and Great Britain. Since coming to L.K. Comstock in

2006, he has served as vice president of operations and has overseen the successful completion of numerous major transit systems projects, including in the Dallas and Seattle metropolitan areas, as well as at Washington Dulles and Miami international airports.

Comstock National Transit has achieved an exemplary safety record while completing a diverse range of transit systems projects, including light rail, streetcars and automated people movers involving communications, train control, traction power, SCADA systems and track work," said RailWorks Corporation President and CEO Jeffrey Levy. "Mark is a capable and proven leader who will guide L.K. Comstock National Transit as it continues to grow and execute even more complex systems projects that are integral to the future of mass transit."

Pereira is responsible for leading PNR RailWorks, which specializes in providing track, signals and communications and transit systems services for Canada's rail industry.

During his 20-year career in design and construction, Pereira has focused on transportation and heavy civil works projects, serving in positions with Walter Construction, GTM Consulting and, most recently, with SNC-Lavalin, the Canada-based global engineering and construction firm. While at SNC-Lavalin, he served as vice president of roads and bridges and vice president of the design/build group.

"Nuno brings a strong background in engineering and construction to PNR RailWorks and has been actively involved in some of the same transit projects that we have worked on," said Levy.
