On June 6, 2016, Rep. Michael Fitzpatrick (R-PA-8) joined representatives from TRAC Lubricants and Coatings (TLC) and the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad for a product demonstration and rail industry discussion.

The product demo featured a New Hope and Ivyland locomotive followed by a conversation on public policy priorities for the business and rail communities in southeast Pennsylvania.

The group was led by TLC President Michael Jumper. Also in attendance were Mike Donovan, general manager, New Hope and Ivyland Railroad and Sean Winkler, grassroots coordinator, Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA), who coordinated the event.

“We are honored to jointly host Rep. Fitzpatrick,” said Jumper. “TLC has a proud history of serving customers in the rail industry and especially here in southeast Pennsylvania. It is crucial that our congressional leaders see the positive economic impacts strong railroads and rail suppliers have on their communities.”

TLC, based in Yeadon, Pa., specializes in the distribution and manufacturing of thin film coatings, dry film lubricants, paints, lubricants, greases, anti-seize and adhesives. The company primarily serves the aerospace, rail/transit, medical, industrial and automotive industries.

The group discussed the recent bipartisan and bicameral introduction of the Building Rail Access for Customers and the Economy (BRACE) Act, which is cosponsored by Rep. Fitzpatrick. The BRACE Act will allow the nation’s small, local freight railroads to increase their reinvestments to upgrade and expand the “first and last mile” of transportation infrastructure by making the Short Line Tax Credit permanent.
