Amsted RPS hosted Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS-2) at its facility in Atchison, Kan., last month.

Rep. Jenkins toured the Amsted RPS facility with company officials from both Amsted RPS and Amsted Industries, as well as a representative from Employee-Owned S Corporations of America (ESCA). Jenkins recently sponsored the Short Line Railroad Rehabilitation and Investment Act, directly impacting railroad maintenance and the business of Amsted RPS.

“Roads and bridges, the taxpayers help fund that infrastructure,” said Rep. Jenkins. “When it comes to railroads, the companies have to maintain that. What we have is a tax bill to help incentivize companies to help keep that infrastructure sound and safe for us and it has a huge impact on businesses like this.”
