On September 16, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), chairman of the House Budget Committee and senior member of the House Ways and Means Committee, joined rail industry representatives for a tour of Nordco's Oak Creek, Wis., facility.

Nordco President and CEO Bruce Boczkiewicz welcomed Rep. Ryan, along with other guests from the rail industry, including Kevin Soucie of Canadian National, Ken Lucht of Wisconsin & Southern and Oak Creek Mayor Steve Scaffidi. The event was organized by the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC).

Nordco, a supplier to North American Class 1 railroads, regional and shortline railroads, public transit systems, railroad contractors, equipment leasing companies and rail mills, helps the railroad industry build, improve, maintain and inspect track infrastructure and rolling stock. Nordco also serves industries that rely heavily on rail transportation, including port authorities, agriculture, mining, chemical and energy.

During his visit, Rep. Ryan was provided with a briefing on the history and current operations of Nordco, followed by a tour of the facility. The Oak Creek facility employs 175 people and manufactures maintenance-of-way equipment.
