SNC-Lavalin realigned its business processes, brands and market strategy to offer a larger portfolio of rail and transit expertise and provide an end-to-end client service offering.

The company says this move unites SNC-Lavalin’s global rail expertise and brings it together as an integrated rail and transit market sector, with more than 1,000 rail engineers combined with 1,000 construction and operations and maintenance experts across the world.

“By integrating our Rail & Transit experts in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, we are aligning our practices and complementary services and sharing knowledge to better serve our global rail and transit clients,” said Marc Rivard, executive vice president, infrastructure engineering.

According to the company, its global reputation, strategic presence and market penetration that SNC-Lavalin has gained in the rail and transit market provides a strategically important platform to build upon in an integrated and powerful way. To date, none of this has been brought together under the SNC-Lavalin brand. Instead, it has been branded either as Interfleet, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group since 2011, or under various joint venture names. With this move, SNC-Lavalin will better leverage its experience to meet the demand for infrastructure engineering services.

“As the world’s population is increasingly city-based, clients around the world are dealing with an urgent need to build and improve their transit networks,” said Ian Edwards, president, infrastructure. “Our ability to provide invaluable expertise to transit agencies, departments of transportation, operators, maintainers, advisors and investors is unmatched in the industry and we have the expertise to find reliable and sustainable solutions for our Rail &Transit clients, regardless of the size, scope or location.”
