The Armor Group, Inc., of Mason, Ohio, has acquired the assets of PQ Shelters, Inc., formerly Precision Quincy Shelters, of Woodstock, Ill. The company will continue to operate as PQ Shelters.

“The PQ Shelters name is one widely associated with quality, value and service and it is Armor’s desire to continue to improve upon this longstanding tradition,” said Frank Ferguson, PQ Shelters president.

Armor said this acquisition strengthens its position as a provider of fabricated shelter and enclosure products and provides an opportunity for PQ Shelters to significantly increase market share in the rail, transit, utility and telecommunications segments. The integration of PQ Shelters will also provide manufacturing synergies resulting in greater efficiencies and services benefiting Armor’s entire customer base. Armor plans to grow the business by expanding into additional markets and utilizing a shared-services model for increased operating efficiencies.

“Customers can be assured that more than 75 years of collective shelter experience has been retained to ensure a seamless transition for our customers,” said Ferguson.
