The Metropolitan Phoenix chapter of Women in Transportation named Union Pacific's (UP) Zoe Richmond Woman of the Year. Richmond currently serves as director of public affairs in Arizona and New Mexico.

“It is a privilege to be recognized by Women in Transportation,” Richmond said. “I am excited to be one of a number of women at Union Pacific who are working to help take the company beyond its historic 150th anniversary and into the future.”

Women in Transportation is an international organization dedicated to the professional advancement of women in the transportation industry. Since 1977, the organization has worked to help women find opportunity and recognition in transportation.

As director of public affairs in Arizona and New Mexico, Richmond manages UP’s work with state and local elected officials, as well as the company’s efforts to engage communities where UP trains operate. Richmond also oversees the company’s philanthropic initiatives in both states. Previously, Richmond worked as director of corporate relations and media in UP’s western region, where she handled media relations, crisis response and supported corporate communications initiatives for eight states in the western U.S.
