Grade crossing repairs planned in New Jersey

Written by Jenifer Nunez, assistant editor

New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has planned railroad crossing repair projects in Woodstown, Salem County.

South Main Street repairs are scheduled just east of Bacon Lane from August 12 until August 14. East Millbrook Avenue repairs are scheduled August 15 until August 16.

In order to provide safer and smoother railroad crossings in Woodstown, the freight rail contractor will replace the existing crossing with a new concrete freight rail crossing bed, install new tracks and repave the asphalt approaches. Safety warning upgrades will be made at each location. These projects are included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program, which repairs, upgrades or removes approximately 30 crossings each year, statewide.
