The Ann Arbor Railroad (AA) will upgrade eight-inch incandescent lights to 12-inch LED lights at the Erie Street, Albany Street, Summit Street, Erie Street and Chase Street grade crossings in the city of Toledo, Lucas County. Funding for these upgrades will be shared by PUCO and the railroad and AA will be responsible for completing the projects by March 26, 2015.
CSX will install mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at the Green Road/Township Road 108 highway-rail grade crossing in Seneca County. CSX will also install mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at the Reitz Road/Township Road 101 highway-rail grade crossing in Wood County.
Norfolk Southern (NS) will install mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates at the Keystone Street highway-rail grade crossing in the city of Alliance, Stark County.
CSX and NS will be responsible for completing construction of their projects by December 26, 2014. Funding for the CSX and NS upgrades will be provided by federal funds.
Funding for the AA improvements will come from the State Grade Crossing Safety Fund and will not exceed $5,000.
