Axion International Holdings, Inc., has received a purchase order from a new customer, Edmonton Light Rail Transit, in Edmonton, AB, Canada, for its ECOTRAX ties. These ties will be used for road crossing applications where the transit line's rail tracks intersect with roads.

ECOTRAX composite rail ties are made from 100 percent-recycled plastic. In manufacturing ties for this purchase order, more than 150,000 pounds of plastic were taken out of the landfill stream and converted into crossties. With this order, Edmonton Light Rail Transit becomes Axion’s third customer in Canada.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Edmonton on their first purchase order of ECOTRAX,” stated Cory Burdick, Axion’s ECOTRAX sales manager.

Axion President and CEO Steve Silverman commented, “We’re encouraged by the number of new customers purchasing and installing ECOTRAX.”
