IntegriCo Composites, Inc., manufacturer of recycled plastic railroad ties, recently had a railroad company in Mexico install its ties in track.

Working with Atlas Trading International, IntegriCo added another major railroad to its list of repeat customers. IntegriCo has been working in Mexico for several years, having installed recycled plastic grade crossings on two separate occasions.

IntegriCo says its ties will save the railroad significant amounts of time and money, as well as help meet the railway’s environmental and sustainability goals.

According to railroad officials, the IntegriCo ties were easily installed in a challenging area, which includes extreme weather conditions, very high loads and a relatively sharp four-degree turn.

IntegriCo Composites’ railroad ties are now installed in Class 1s, shortlines and industrial customers’ tracks in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and India.

IntegriCo’s vice president of operations, Ken Webber, said, “We are delighted that one of Mexico’s largest rail companies chose to install IntegriCo’s recycled plastic ties. This is further validation from our existing customer base that our recycled railroads ties are a terrific competitive offering. We are proud to help the railroads exceed their long-term profitability requirements, as well as meet their environmental goals.”
