Rep. Thornberry visits Rocla Concrete Tie

U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry visited Rocla Concrete Tie for a tour on Oct. 3.

U.S. Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX-13) visited Rocla Concrete Tie, Inc., in Amarillo, Texas, for a tour of the supplier’s facility on Oct. 3.

 

Brett Urquhart, Rocla’s vice president of business development, presented an overview of the company’s operations and guided the facility tour, during which he explained to Rep. Thornberry the manufacturing process for concrete ties. Urquhart also discussed the effects of the national railroad network on the country’s economy and the employment opportunities it offers.

“I was glad to learn more about the work and products at Rocla,” Rep. Thornberry said. “The care and precision which goes into making these high-quality ties used in rail construction across the country is impressive. We certainly appreciate the jobs and economic activity Rocla contributes to our area.”
