Visioning Sessions

August 27-29, the Washington, D.C., Metro will upgrade its track and platforms and trim weeds on the Red, Blue and Green lines to improve long-term reliability and service. As a result of this crucial work, which is critical to maintain the railroad in a state of good repair, riders can expect delays of up to 30 minutes

Red Line Platform Rehabilitation.

Metrorail customers traveling between the Shady Grove and Twinbrook Metrorail stations should add at least 30 minutes to their travel time because Metro will repair the deteriorated platform at the Rockville Metrorail station to return it to a state of good repair. Trains will share one track between these locations the entire weekend from 8 p.m. Friday, August 27, to closing, (midnight) on Sunday, August 29.

Blue Line Track Maintenance.

Metrorail customers traveling between the Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant Metrorail stations should add at least 30 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to replace concrete slabs underneath the rails to help ensure more reliable service and to keep the track bed in a state of good repair. Trains will share one track between these locations from 10 p.m. Friday, August 27, to closing (midnight) on Sunday, August 29

Blue Line Track Maintenance.

Metrorail customers traveling between the Braddock Road and Van Dorn Metrorail stations on the Blue Line should add at least 30 minutes to their travel time to allow Metro to trim weeds along the tracks.
