August 6-8, Metro in Washington, D.C., will upgrade its track on the Red and Green lines to improve reliability and service. As a result of this crucial work aimed at keeping the railroad in a state of good repair, riders can expect delays between 20 and 40 minutes. 



This weekend the Legg Mason Tennis Classic tournament is taking place at the William H.G. Fitzgerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park. Fans attending this weekend's tournament and using Metrorail to catch the free shuttle buses from the Van Ness-UDC Metrorail station should add at least 40 minutes to their travel times due to this weekend's track maintenance on the Red Line. 



Red Line Weekend Track Maintenance. 

Metrorail customers traveling between the Dupont Circle and Judiciary Square Metrorail stations on the Red Line should add at least 40 minutes to their travel time because Metro will install new track and upgrade a rail switch outside the Farragut North Metrorail station. Trains will share track between these locations the entire weekend from 10 p.m., Friday, August 6, to closing (midnight) Sunday, August 8. 



Green Line Weekend Track Maintenance. 

Metrorail customers traveling between the Southern Avenue and Naylor Road Metrorail stations should add at least 20 minutes to their travel time because Metro will weld new rail on the tracks in that area. Trains will share one track between these locations the entire weekend.
