Monday, December 12, 2011

Union Pacific will be performing repairs on two bridges, which span over Illinois Route 176 the week of December 12. The repairs will consist of repairing the steel sheeting on the underside of the bridges.

The work, which will improve vehicular and pedestrian safety, will necessitate the periodic closure of one lane of the roadway (Route 176) and the adjacent sidewalk/pathway north and south of the roadway.

UP plans to commence work at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, December 12, in the westbound lane of Illinois 176.
If the work goes according to schedule, work from the eastbound lane and adjacent bike path on the south side of Route 176 will commence on Wednesday, December 14 and continue on Thursday, December 15.
