Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. ("X" Train) elected Gil Lamphere to chairman of the board.

Former "X" Train Chairman & current CEO/President Michael Barron said, "We are pleased that Mr. Lamphere has joined our company in the position of chairman. His extensive experience in the financial side of the railroad industry will serve the company well in the coming years as we make the "X" Train a reality."

Lamphere commented on his election as Chairman, "I am extremely excited to join the Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. - "X" Train project. Lamphere currently serves on the Board of Directors of CSX Corporation and is a partner at FlatWorld Capital LLC. Previously, Lamphere served on the board of Canadian National, chaired the board of the Illinois Central Railroad and served on the board of Florida East Coast Railway.

Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. has been planning for the establishment of a "Vegas-style" passenger train service between Los Angeles and Las Vegas since early 2009. Roundtrip service will be Thursday through Monday each week with an introductory price of $99 each way, which includes a First Class accommodation and all-inclusive food & beverage, similar to the airline industry. In addition, the "X" Train will also offer the ability for its passengers to book hotel rooms, transportation transfers, entertainment, show tickets and other travel incidentals.
