Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority seeks a contractor for maintenance of the Corridor’s track, signals, communications and structures.


The Alameda Corridor Transportation Authority (ACTA) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for maintenance and construction services on the Alameda Corridor. ACTA intends to contract with one firm or team for a five-year period (with a five-year extension option) to perform services as summarized in the RFP.

ACTA is a joint-powers authority created by the cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach in 1989 to develop, finance, construct and operate the Alameda Corridor. Operations commenced in April 2002. The Alameda Corridor is a triple-track freight railway that extends 20 miles from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to downtown Los Angeles. The two largest Class 1 railroads in the country, Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway, operate on the Corridor serving the largest port complex in the nation.

Prospective proposers may go to the beginning Wednesday, August 15, 2018 to download the Maintenance Services Request for Proposal. Proposals shall be submitted in person by 3:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time) on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. A pre-proposal meeting and site visit will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Port of Long Beach Headquarters located at 4801 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach, CA 90815.
