Monte Stokes joins Pacific Harbor Line as Chief Engineer.

Pacific Harbor Line (https://www.anacostia.com/railroads/phl)) has appointed Monte Stokes as chief engineer of the 75-mile short-line railroad serving the Ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles. Effective February 1, he succeeded Robert Giannoble, who retired effective December 31, 2020.
Stokes joins PHL from the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), where he had been deputy division engineer at Washington, D.C., assistant division engineer at Baltimore, Md., and senior engineer-track, Philadelphia, since 2017.
He previously held various engineering posts with CSX Transportation from 2011 to 2017, advancing from management trainee to roadmaster II at Cincinnati, Ohio. From 2007 to 2010, he was a construction engineer at CH2M HILL Inc., Atlanta, Ga. and project engineer for Moreland Altobelli at Norcross, Ga., from 2005 to 2007.
An engineering graduate from South Carolina State University, Stokes holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and is a former record-breaking wide receiver for the Bulldogs.
