Watco Transportation Services named Ryan Williams vice president marketing - Gulf Region. In this role, Williams will be responsible for the overall performance of the Gulf and Southeast Regional marketing teams as it relates to cultivating growth and leading the expansion of the company's existing commercial and customer relationships.

He will work with the marketing teams and customers in these regions associated with the following railroads: Alabama Southern, Alabama Warrior (AWRR), Autauga Southern, Austin Western, Birmingham Terminal, Baton Rouge Southern, Louisiana Southern, Mississippi Southern, Pecos Valley, San Antonio Central (SAC), Timber Rock (TIBR) and Vicksburg Southern to maximize revenues and volume growth initiatives to the maximum the market will allow. Williams will also work with Watco corporate commercial and operating teams to meet customer needs in an approach that supports Watco’s Customer First Foundation Principles.

Recently, Williams has been marketing manager for the AWRR, SAC, and TIBR railroads in the Gulf Region and managed the customer relationships and growth of these properties. Previously, he served as assistant general manager for the South Kansas and Oklahoma Railroad and prior to that, he worked on management teams with BNSF in Lincoln, Neb., and Kansas City, Mo.

Willaims will be replacing the current vice president of the Gulf Region, Amy Parady, who, after 11 years of successful work at Watco Transportation Services, is taking on a new challenge by accepting the role of vice president of business development and corporate liaison for Watco Supply Chain Services (SCS).
