Macro, a division of Ross & Baruzzini, an advanced mobility and communications systems engineering consultancy firm, has appointed Sean Kennedy as its new director of business development.

In his new role, Kennedy is expected to draw upon his 25 years of experience in the transportation, utilities and public safety industries to develop new business and drive strategic growth for the firm.

In a statement, the firm said Kennedy is expected to be a strong asset in Macro’s ongoing and expanding relationships with rail, transit and public safety radio clients and strategic partners.

“He will work to position the company as the premier planning, design and project management partner in critical technology and systems across operations, including controls, communications, security, safety and intelligent transportation systems,” the firm said in a statement.

Before he joined Ross & Baruzzini, Kennedy served as a senior director at Amtrak, where he led IT projects and applications for the transportation department.

“We welcome Sean to the team,” said Megan Huff, vice president and managing principal of Macro. “I had the pleasure of working alongside Sean at Amtrak and can attest to his professionalism, strong track record in successful client and project management and outstanding technical expertise.”

Kennedy is an alumnus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is also a certified Project Management Professional.

Macro provides command, control, communication and information technologies to passenger railroads, transportation departments and more.

The firm states that it has managed hundreds of multi-discipline projects implementing state-of-the-art, cost effective and responsible intelligent technologies, communications networks and infrastructure.
