The Lynnwood Link extension is making good progress.
Union construction crews continue making great progress extending light rail into Snohomish County as the Lynnwood Link light rail extension rises next to Interstate 5 north of Seattle.
Construction on the project that includes four new new stations, 8.5 miles of track guideway and about 1,500 parking spaces is nearing halfway mark this summer.
Crews recently drilled and poured the last of 188 new columns that will support the new light rail guideway extending from Northgate Station in north Seattle.
When the Lynnwood line opens in 2024, riders will have a hassle-free 18-minute trip between Lynnwood and the University District or just 27 minutes to downtown Seattle, no matter how bad traffic is on I-5.
Our construction partners at Skanska USA passed on some recent photos from the project along with a nice drone flyover of the new light rail bridge going in over I-5. Check it out below!
