Metra announced yesterday that it would not charge medical professionals, and other medical personnel, to ride their trains at least through April 7th. All the rider needs to do is show an ID badge that proves they work at a doctor’s office, hospital, the local fire department, or some other medical facility.

Metra CEO/Executive Director Jim Derwinski said “We know it’s a small gesture.” However, “if it makes this a little bit easier for these men and women who are bravely showing up at work every day and saving lives during this crisis, it’s the right thing to do.”
