SunRail begins construction on new station in DeLand, Florida, adding another 12 miles to SunRail's current routes.
Public transit service, SunRail, held a ceremony for starting construction on May 22, 2023 on a brand-new station in DeLand, Florida as part of a larger $34 million project to create more commuter access for passengers in Central Florida. Completing its original goal of having seventeen stations in Central Florida, DeLand will allow passengers to travel from DeLand to more of Volusia County.
The DeLand station will bring in an additional 12 miles to SunRail’s current routes and connect DeLand to other SunRail stations in Osceola, Orange, Volusia, and Seminole counties in Florida. SunRail officials will announce more details about the DeLand station next year.
