Edmonton’s Valley Line West LRT project is the second phase of the Valley Line LRT.

The city of Edmonton has chosen its running mate for the 14-km Valley Line West LRT project.

Marigold Infrastructure Partners, a joint venture that includes Colas Infrastructure, Parsons, Francl Architecture, Fast + EPP and Stantec, has been selected to design, build and partially finance the public-private partnership project (P3). A total of three P3 consortiums were finalists for the job.

“We’re confident our rigorous competitive process has culminated in the selection of a strong team to deliver the Valley Line West LRT at good value for Edmontonians,” said Valley Line Director Brad Smith.

The project is the second phase of the 27-km Valley Line LRT and will run from Mill Woods through downtown Edmonton to the west end of the city. The first phase is being handled by TransEd Partners.

Construction of the second phase is expected to begin in 2021, with completion expected to happen in either 2026 or 2027.
