Dewberry to serve as general rail planning services consultant to NCDOT Rail Division

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Rail Division has selected Dewberry to provide the department with general rail planning services.

“As North Carolina continues to expand its rail services across the region, we’re excited to be at the forefront of the changes by providing technical and professional engineering services,” said Dewberry Vice President Rachel Vandenberg, P.E.

With the newly-announced agreement, Dewberry may offer the department services including demand modeling, rail function and preliminary design, studies of economic and fiscal impact of rail-related activities.

The firm may also provide services such as technical and negotiation assistance in securing rail lines or corridors, train performance and rail line capacity analyses, viability analyses, and support work for rail-related projects.
