Ondas Networks has named Paul Wagner as vice president of its transportation business unit.

In his new role, Wagner joins President Jim Taylor, Strategic Advisor Wayne Tatro and Director of Business Development Robert Burchard on Ondas Networks’ new transportation team.

At Ondas, Wagner will be responsible for growing the transportation unit and expanding its presence within its sector, a statement said.

Wagner brings more than two decades of experience in the transportation industry, including work in management, sales, operations and service delivery. Prior to his current position at Ondas, he led global cross-functional teams at DXC that officials said improved services and innovation for clients.

“Paul and I have worked together in the past and I am excited to join forces with him again as he is a leader, a team builder, a strategic organizer and a long-standing veteran within the transportation industry with a proven record of driving business growth and building high-performance teams across multiple regions and organizational boundaries,” said Jim Taylor, Ondas’ Transportation Business Unit President. “His expertise in developing innovative solutions catered specifically to customer needs and in establishing significant company growth is exactly what we need to continue to build our transportation business unit and introduce the IEEE 802.16s standard to an industry that stands to benefit from it significantly for their Mission Critical IoT (MC-IoT) operations.”

Wagner also held multiple roles at CSC including global industry general manager for the travel and transportation industry group where he led solution development, deployment and work involved in partnering to increase the company’s global presence, a statement said.

Before that, he served as operations director and as a service delivery executive for the infrastructure services division of CSC’s Public Sector group.

“Ondas’ technology and the IEEE 802.16s standard provide a unique solution for transportation companies as it not only addresses coverage and capacity demands, but also ensures the industry is prepared for continual growth by eliminating dependency on proprietary technologies or less secure networks,” Wagner said. “I am thrilled to be a part of the team that is transforming the Industrial Internet by providing a standards-based solution and I look forward to continuing the expansion of our presence within the transportation industry.”
