New Jersey Transit (NJ Transit) has awarded Dewberry two contracts for upcoming work.

The agreements include an environmental consulting task order contract and a stations services task order contract.

The scope of work for Dewberry’s environmental consulting services contract entails site investigation and remediation and environmental and historic documentation. Environmental permitting, compliance and project documentation will also be completed.

The firm will provide underground and aboveground storage tank system compliance reviews, design services and project documentation. Dewberry will supply energy and sustainability services, and environmental and facility data management as well.

Under the stations, access, parking and site planning contract, the firm is set to facilitate specialized station facility design, multimodal access plans and ADA station improvement planning and design services.

Officials said the contracts will assist NJ Transit in the planning, engineering design and construction of projects that support its daily multimodal operation and ongoing state-of-good-repair capital program. Steve Santoro, former executive director of NJ Transit, joined Dewberry in April 2018 to lead the firm’s rail and transit efforts.

NJ Transit operates a fleet of 1,231 trains and 21 light-rail vehicles, with 12 rail lines throughout the state.
