The Railway Engineering‐Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) has selected Jacob Carter as its new government affairs manager.

Carter will oversee REMSA’s Grassroots Program, which joins railroads and maintenance‐of‐way suppliers and their relevant members of Congress to advocate on behalf of the rail industry.

“REMSA is excited to have Jacob join our team. His background in policy and experience on the Hill will be well served in promoting REMSA’s membership and the positive impact the rail industry has on the nation’s economy. It’s a story that needs to be shared,” said Dave Tennent, REMSA’s executive director and CEO.

Prior to joining REMSA, Carter served as government affairs analyst at the Bockorny Group, where he researched members of Congress, legislation and policy, as well as working on client outreach efforts, event planning and preparing advocacy documents.

“REMSA offers a terrific opportunity to engage with lawmakers and remind them of the economic and consumer benefits of investing in rail maintenance and infrastructure,” Carter said. “I’m thrilled to join the association and build on the significant success that they have achieved over the years in behalf of the rail industry.”

In the past, Carter interned for Sen. Martin Heinrich, Rep. Bill Owens, and Sen. Claire McCaskill. He campaigned for Rep. Jim Moran, as well.

Carter received his bachelor’s degree in political science from George Washington University.
