NEW YORK CITY – The MTA announced the award of a contract for constructing ADA-accessibility upgrades at five subway stations. The package is called ADA Package 6 and will include the Middletown Road subway station in the Bronx.
CHICAGO – The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) announced it has completed planned work in 2024 as part of its Refresh & Renew program.
WILSON, N.C. – Amtrak’s G.K. Butterfield Station received renovations as part of a $4 million project with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), the City of Wilson, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, and CSX.
LACEY, Wash. – The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission (UTC) approved a $73,000 grant for a Puyallup fencing project.
BOSTON – After track work on the Red Line, the MBTA reports the line has no speed restrictions for the first time in twenty years.

PHILADELPHIA – To celebrate the completion of the SEPTA Airport Line Platform Upgrade Project, the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) held a ribbon cutting on November 15th.
ATLANTA – Brookhaven rail station reopened on November 16th after a six-week construction project.
HOBOKEN, N.J. – PATH Hoboken Station will close for 25 days in February 2025 to allow for track improvements and station rehabilitation to take place.
CHICAGO – The CTA has announced plans for changes at its Clark/Lake Loop Elevated Station.
BOSTON – The MBTA has completed track work on its Red Line, and, as a result, it has removed five ‘critical’ speed restrictions.
WASHINGTON, D.C. – WMATA has released plans for its Blue, Orange, and Silver lines construction work this December.
BOSTON – With the completion of this ‘critical’ track work by the MBTA, the passenger authority reports this is the first time in almost 15 years the Orange Line is restriction free.
NEW YORK CITY – Two new elevators have opened at 14 St 123 Subway Station as part of accessibility upgrades made by the MTA.
ATLANTA – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will stop service to Indian Creek Station to allow for a pedestrian bridge installation from December 8-9, 2024.
WESTPORT, N.Y. – Amtrak, the FRA, the town of Westport, and Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) have completed accessibility improvements to the Westport Station in New York.
TORONTO – Metrolinx has finished accessibility upgrades at Eglinton GO Station.
CHICAGO – Metra’s 147th Street/Sibley Station will reopen on October 28th after a two-year passenger station project.
NEW YORK CITY – The MTA continues its Re-NEW-vation Program that began in 2022. The 100th project was completed at Roosevelt Island station.
BOSTON – The MBTA has completed track work on its Red Line Braintree Branch and subsequently removed 37 speed restrictions.
