ICC Approves Highway/Rail Grade Crossing Projects

The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) last month reported signing off on stipulated agreements to improve safety at highway/rail grade crossings in Fayette, Pike, Stephenson and McLean counties.

Report: NCTD, Del Mar at Odds, Again

North County Transit District (NCTD) and the city of Del Mar, Calif., disagree on how to spend a $300 million grant from the state’s Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

TORONTO – Construction for a new bridge is underway over Mary Fix Creek (near Port Credit GO), which will extend from Eaglewood Boulevard in the east to Oriole Avenue in the west and replace the existing bridge over the creek at Inglewood Drive.

Broadway Subway Project Update

VANCOUVER, BC – On October 12, RT&S reported on the introduction of tunnel boring machines to Vancouver’s Broadway Subway project, and said “The project will add 3.5 miles to the SkyTrain Millennium Line, from the VCC-Clark Station to Broadway, then Arbutus. Total funding for the project, about US$2.3 billion, will be shared by the government of British Columbia, the government of Canada, and the city of Vancouver.”

Cass Scenic Railroad Working with WVDOT to Replace Bridge

CHARLESTON, WV – The Cass Scenic Railroad has been a popular attraction for rail enthusiasts and the general public since it opened in 1963. A portion of the railroad, the line between Cass and Durbin, has not been used since 1985 when the Trout Run Bridge was washed away by a flood.
