MISSISSAUGA, Ontario - Metrolinx has announced it will install around 40 meters of guideway around Eaglewood Bridge.

Earlier this year, RT&S has reported on Metrolinx’s Hazel McCallion Line. Now, Metrolinx has announced it will install around 40 meters of guideway around Eaglewood Bridge. In the surrounding area around Port Credit GO Station, the agency has finished construction on the Eaglewood Bridge which has allowed it to move forward with guideway track installation. This guideway will be a “dedicated section of tracks where trains run, separate from traffic.”

After these tracks are installed, the bridge will be “handed over” to Mississauga and opened. 20 meters of guideway will run north with the remaining 20 meters running south along the Eaglewood Bridge. This new bridge acts as a connection over Mary Fix Creek, allowing Eaglewood Boulevard to connect to Oriole Avenue in the west. This new bridge and intersection will replace the existing bridge and intersection at Inglewood Drive. This will also allow for better traffic flow on both sides of Hurontario Street.
