SAN FRANCISCO – Over the course of four non-consecutive weekends, BART will focus on a track improvement project regarding an interlocking replacement near Richmond Station.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) has announced a cancellation alert starting Presidents’ Day Weekend for major trackway rebuilding work near Richmond Station. During four non-consecutive weekends starting February 17th-19th, crews will replace an interlocking to “allow BART to safely move trains from line to line.” Crews will also complete vegetation management during this time. BART reports this equipment is decades old and “has outlived its design life.”

On Presidents’ Day Weekend, March 16th-17th, April 13th-14th, and April 27th-28th, the Red Line (Richmond-Millbrae) will be cancelled. Local riders who utilize this line are encouraged to take the Orange Line and transfer to the Yellow Line at MacArthur Station.
