TranSystems recently announced that Tom Westerman has joined the company as a senior bridge engineer and project manager in support of the firm's architectural, engineering and planning group focused on the freight railroad and municipality markets. Westerman brings 27 years experience as a civil engineer in the transportation industry. "We are excited about bringing Tom into our rail group to strengthen our offerings to rail and municipality clients. Tom's diverse background in movable bridges, in addition to his experience in all aspects of highway and railroad bridge design, detailing and project management, brings the additional leadership and expertise to our group needed in response to the rise in demand we are seeing from our customer base," said John Nussrallah, Freight Railroads market sector leader. As project manager, Westerman will provide oversight and quality control on rail bridge projects with special attention to planning. Prior to TranSystems, Westerman served as the Railroad and Movable Bridge section manager and bridge department operations manager with another firm. His experience also includes leadership positions within the consulting community. Westerman earned a BSCE graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Rolla and an MS in Engineering Management from the University of Kansas. |
