NEW YORK CITY - The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced service changes will take place on the 4 and 5 subway lines to allow for a switch replacement project.

During this service change, crews will work to replace 37-year-old switches located between the Bronx and Manhattan. These new switches are expected to last for at least the next two decades. The MTA says this replacement work is “critical to maintaining reliable service on one of the busiest subway lines in the system and will help reduce future delays and service disruptions.”

Service changes will take place from January 5 to February 20 from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. More detailed information regarding routes can be found here.
