RTD Announces Online Training Platform

DENVER - RTD's Small Business Opportunity Office (SBO) developed a training module on the Colorado Business Learning Platform.
The training module helps small and disadvantaged businesses navigate and compete for government contracts, says RTD. In collaboration with the Colorado Minority Business Office (MBO) and the Regional Transportation District (RTD), the training module offers on-demand courses to help businesses through the RTD procurement processes and certification pathways. This is a result of the state’s effort to increase investment in infrastructure.
As part of the first course, “Doing Business with RTD,” some of the modules include an overview of RTD’s Small Business Enterprise program, guidance on registering as a vendor with RTD, and more information on SBE certification and how it supports RTD contracts. RTD says more courses will be added as time goes on. The learning platform was made available as of April 27.
RTD Small Business Opportunity Office Manager Alexis Serrano Castro said, “Small businesses are the backbone of our communities. Ensuring they have access to the tools and knowledge needed to compete for public contracts is essential. . . The Colorado Business Learning Platform reflects our commitment to creating equitable pathways for local, small, minority-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged, and other businesses to participate in transportation projects and contribute to Colorado’s growing economy.”
Colorado Minority Business Office Director Azarel Madrigal said, “The Colorado Minority Business Office is committed to expanding opportunities for entrepreneurs across Colorado. . . Through our partnership with RTD, the Colorado Business Learning Platform will provide entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources they need to strengthen their businesses, access new opportunities, and grow within Colorado’s public contracting ecosystem.”
