CORINNE, Utah –– Union Pacific this week rolled out its Donald J. Trump locomotive, number 4547.
Railroads have transported NASA solid rocket boosters for decades, rolling east to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, which is east of Orlando, from an origin in the West. Union Pacific dispatched a solid rocket booster train from Utah on Tuesday, which is carrying solid rocket boosters for Artemis III.

UP used this occasion to introduce its Donald J. Trump locomotive. At a ceremony with Northrup Grumman, NASA, and Wabtec leaders, UP president Jim Vena said “We are proud to honor President Donald J. Trump with this commemorative engine while helping advance the Artemis III mission. As No. 4547 carries these rocket components, it represents the strength of our nation’s supply chain and our role in connecting the country – linking industries, communities and opportunity from our rail network to the surface of the moon.”
The ceremony included a christening of the 4547 with a bottle of, presumably, champagne wrapped in a gray cloth. In a press release, UP said the 4547 is “a locomotive that honors President Donald J. Trump and commemorates America’s 250th anniversary.”

Union Pacific released a video of Tuesday’s proceedings . . .
